After months of voting, the 2010 Women in Poker Hall of Fame Class has been announced. It comes as no surprise that two of the inductees are considered to be the two best female players of all time. Let’s take a quick look at this year’s class.

Jennifer Harman

Considered by many to be the best all-around female poker player, Harman’s induction into the hall comes as no surprise by anyone. Harman has two WSOP bracelets and is the only woman in WSOP history to have multiple bracelets in open events. In addition, she has 3 WPT final table appearances. Harman has over $2.6 Million in tournament earnings. She is also a sponsored pro at Full Tilt Poker, one of the best poker sites for US players. In addition, Jennifer is a staple in the “Big Game” at the Bellagio in Las Vegas where she has been tearing up the high stakes world for years.

Kathy Liebert

When considering Liebert for the Hall of Fame, all one had to do was look at the all-time money list. Liebert is the top earning female poker player of all-time with $5.7 Million in earnings. She has a $1.4 Million lead over 2nd place. Liebert is considered by many to be the best female NL Holdem player in the world. Liebert has one WSOP bracelet and seven WPT final table appearances. In addition, she took down the PartyPoker Million event back in 2002 which netted her a cool $1 Million in prize money.

Billie Brown

Brown’s contribution to the poker world was primarily behind the scenes in the poker industry. While she was one of the few women in card rooms in the 70’s, she moved on to the administrative side and by the 80’s began to create events that would change the face of modern poker. She was the first person to offer a guaranteed prize pool for a poker tournament. Her first ever “guaranteed” event had $350,000 in guarantees the first year and by year four, the event had $1 Million in guarantees. Over 2,500 players would attend those events, which was a staggering number considering this was long before Moneymaker. She is also the creator of the California State Ladies Poker Championship, an event that runs to this day. Long before there were monster fields for live events and UB poker bonus codes offered online, Brown was a visionary that saw opportunity to draw players of all ages and sex to the tables.

The Women in Poker Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be held September 3rd, 2010 at the Golden Nugget Casino Grand Ballroom in Las Vegas, NV. Tickets can be purchased at the Women’s Hall of Fame website at www.wiphof.com.

We are in a world where the internet has taken full control, and even when it comes to relaxing, we tend to lean towards our computers to see what is happening in the world of cyberspace. The latest craze in the cyberspace arena is online poker. More and more people have at least played it once and more is trying it out every day. Going hand in hand with online poker is the various deposit methods available for each provider and even market. Gambling Deposits have become a vital part in player’s choices in how much to deposit and how to make that deposit to an online poker room. By choosing the correct online poker deposit method the player is empowered and has full control over their depositing or withdrawing capabilities. Online operators provide a wide variety of online deposit methods to choose from and make it easy for online customers to make that decision.

Various online payment methods deliver services to players and if we had to look at certain types of online methods, PayPal surely does stand out. PayPal has been around for many years and have become a household name in various countries. It’s hugely popular and customers use PayPal to pay for services offered all over the world. The PayPal account can be funded in over ten ways, just like a Ucash casino account, which makes it user friendly and it also eliminates third party organizations. By doing this PayPal customers have the peace of mind when transacting. To fund ones PayPal account is free of charge and with that saving online players can channel more funds towards their online poker accounts. What makes PayPal quite unique is the fact that they offer a variety of currencies to transact in. The 18 currencies on offer makes dealings very easy due to the fact that the system picks up which currency should be applied to the customer. If by some reason the currency is not in their list, the customer can have the option to choose in which currency they would like to transact.

As mentioned before online poker has become hugely popular and a massive industry in our time, and the majority of online poker rooms offer PayPal to make transacting easier. PayPal Poker rooms enjoy high volumes of visitors due to the easy of deposit making. Online poker rooms like Everest Poker is amongst the industry’s favorite as they also offer a wide variety of online deposit methods besides PayPal. Everest Poker is a leader in online poker due to the fact that they offer over 15 different languages, also in their favor is the fact that they have various licenses, so online players can be assured that they are dealing with a well oiled and professional organization. Offering free rolls and tournaments Everest Poker has made a huge impression amongst online poker players and their competitors. Texas Hold’em is by far Everest Poker most played game and is also the most played card game in the world.

With jargon-heavy terms such as flop, blind and river, it can be difficult enough for any newcomer to poker to get to grips with the nuances of the games. With the average online casino also offering rake to players, it is vital for new players to understand exactly what rake means and how it is applied in the variants of poker found on any casino provider.

Rake is basically a percentage of money that is taken from the pot to furnish the house with a fee for each game. As poker is a community game – i.e., a game where players bet against each other rather than the house – the house uses rake to earn its percentage for organizing and monitoring these community games.

Rakeback is a further percentage of the rake that is given back to players once they have finished a session. This amount is dependant on the casino – some will take a small rake while others will take much more. Some casinos

charge rake on the number of players in a round, others merely take a final percentage of the pot. Again, it depends on the casino, the table and the stakes, so it is always worth checking the rake first, either with the casinos themselves or with a casino comparison site that offers reviews that include things like rake detail.

Furthermore, while the concept of rakeback might seem like an immediately appealing one (essentially cutting in on a free house percentage) there may be conditions to which the rakeback adheres. A frequent example of this is when a casino offers bonuses and promotions that are only available to players that do not collect rakeback. Other sites might subtract any bonuses from the net rake, thus cheapening the rakeback.

All of the relevant information is freely available, either on the website of the relevant casino or on any affiliate site, and quite often these affiliate sites offer promotional codes whereby negotiating the best rakeback conditions. For this reason it is often a clever tactic to browse the affiliate sites when first choosing an online casino, thus earning a larger rake or more access to net rake through bonuses.

When all is said and done rakeback is one of the more consistent casino bonuses that are available to players. Providing they take the time and effort to analyze the best opportunities for themselves, they could find that the more poker they play the more they earn, whether they win the pot or not.

Daniel Negreanu is a Canadian born Poker professional, born on July 26th, 1974 to Annie and Constantin, Romanian immigrants who left Romania for the chance of their children having better lives. A mischief teenager, Daniel showed a fond for pool, gambling and poker in particular. Along with his natural skill for probability and analysis, Daniel’s competitive thirst began to quench, and after dropping out of high-school (1 point short of a GED), he began playing full-time in different charity casinos in his hometown of toronto.

Always a competitor, Negreanu came to the Mecca of gambling, Las Vegas, at the age of 21, and with his nice sum of poker winnings he started playing at the glitzy casinos of the city of lights. The young Negreanu lost his entire bankroll after a short time in the desert, and returned home to Toronto to rebuild it, a mission he had successfully completed.
After spending hours and hours on improving his games, and after consecutive loses on Vegas, Daniel’s game improved, and his dream to becoming on the best professional poker players started to take shape. He won his first W.S.o.P tournament in 1998 and became the youngest player ever, back then, to win a bracelet. He then received the nickname “Kid Poker”. True for 2010, Daniel has 4 W.S.o.P bracelets and has more career earnings than any poker player in the world (from poker alone).

* Is a vegan since 2003.
